Netwerk Vlaanderen researched on the financing of six cluster munition producers. Sixty-eight financial groups have been found to play a role in the financing of these companies. The report contains information on banks from Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, The Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Switzerland, UK and USA. Together they fuelled billions of dollars in these six producers. The financial world seems to be blindly investing in morbid civilian-killers like cluster munitions. Since more than 40 countries have expressed their will to have an international treaty banning cluster munitions by 2008, the time is right to include a ban on investments in this treaty.
